Information about the monthly meetings of the Society

What Happens At Our Meetings

The Society normally holds monthly meetings from January through May, hosts its Annual Show in June, takes the summer months off and then meets from  September through December.

This year's schedule is a little different as we have had to move the Annual Show to September due to scheduling issues with Fort York.  We will hold a monthly meeting in June.

At each meeting there is time for members to socialize and browse. A show and tell table is set up where members can display recent work or acquisitions.  Members are free to set up a table to trade or sell items and there are usually several members with goods on display.  In the formal part of the meeting we discuss current Society business and events and then there will usually be a 30 to 45 minute presentation by a guest speaker or member.  This could be a historical lecture or a talk on technique or some other aspect of the hobby.

As part of the October meeting the Society holds its Annual General Meeting.  At this time the officers for the coming year are elected.  (They take office in January.)

Our November meeting is usually devoted to our annual auction.

At our December meeting we hold a special Christmas luncheon for our members and invited guests.

Meeting Schedule (2012)

Except for the Annual Show in September, all meetings are Sunday afternoons.  Doors open around 11:00 am and the formal part of the meeting begins at 1:00 pm.  (The Annual Auction meeting may start earlier; notice will be given in the newsletter.  The meetings are usually finished by 3:00 pm.

Meeting Location

The Society currently meets at Branch 210 of the Royal Canadian Legion.  The legion is located at 110 Jutland Road in Toronto (Islington and Queensway area).  See map.
